Abuja – A 27-year-old man, Mr Monday Onoja, charged with theft of a billboard on Tuesday appeared at a Karu Magistrates’ Court, Abuja.
Onoja, who resides at Karu, is facing a three-count charge of criminal trespass, mischief and theft.
The Prosecutor, Mr Vincent Osuji, told the court that the complainant in the case, Mr Chimezie Otuojor of Ford Mart Supermarket, Karu, reported the matter at Karu Police Station at about 12 noon on June 30, 2018.
Osuji said the defendant stole a billboard valued at N164, 000 belonging to the complainant at the location of the supermarket.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 348, 327 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Linda Ibegwu, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ibegwu adjourned the case until July 24 for hearing.
