Man, 34, arraigned for stealing 50 fowls in Ibadan

IBADAN – A 34-year-old poultry attendant, Rasheed Aderemi, who allegedly stole 50 fowls, was on Wednesday  charged before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Aderemi, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Cpl.Hammed Salewa said Aderemi stole 50 fowls valued at N250, 000.

Salewa told the court that the accused stole the fowls property of the complainant, Mr Omoniyi Fatai, at Lahonu Village in Famuku area of Ibadan.

He said the offence which was committed on Oct. 25 about 6. 30 a.m. contravened Sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Sofiat Oyediran, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Oyediran said one of the sureties must have three years tax clearance as part of the bail conditions.

She adjourned the case till Nov. 27 for hearing. (NAN)
