Osogbo, March 9,2016 (NAN) An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Wednesday sentenced a 38-year-old man, Morgan Onobe, to 30 days’ imprisonment in Ilesa Prison, for contempt.
The magistrate, Mrs Hailmatu Bashir, who convicted Onobe said the convict be kept behind bars due to the gravity of his offence without an option of fine.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Olaiwola Rasak, had told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in March 2012.

Rasak said the accused refused to show up in a case in with Ref. No : Mos/ 465c/ 2012 on several occasions when it was scheduled for mention by the court.
He said the offence contravened Section 133 ( 2) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The counsel to the convict, Mr Bola Ige, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in its judgment.
The accused had then pleaded guilty to the contempt charge.(NAN)
