IBADAN – An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday remanded a 39-year-old man, Musa Jatto, at the Agodi Prisons for allegedly killing his father.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani ordered the remand of the accused in prison pending receipt of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Durosaro-Tijani, thereafter, adjourned the case till July 6 for mention
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the plea of the accused was not taken by the court.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Folake Ewe, told the court that the accused on May 25 at 5.30 a.m. inflicted a machete cut on the neck of his father, Abdullahi Jatto, 57.
Ewe said that the severe cut sustained led to the death of the deceased at his residence at Adeoje Estate, Apata, Ibadan.

The prosecutor told the court that the alleged offence of the accused, who lived in his father’s house, contravened Sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code Cap. C38, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.(NAN)
