Kano- The Nomansland Magistrates Court in Kano, on Wednesday ordered a 52-year-old man, Abdullahi Suleiman, be remanded in prison custody over alleged conspiracy and robbery.
Suleiman was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, an offence contrary to sections 97 and 289 of the penal code.
The prosecutor, Mr Ekainu Elias, told the court that Suleiman, who lives in Sharada Jaeen Quarters and one Sale Ali of Unguwa Uku Quarters, were reported to the Police CID Division on July 7 for criminal conspiracy and robbery.
They were said to have injected a dangerous substance into a sachet of water, which they gave to one tricycle driver, Musa Adamu of Zangon Dakata Quarters Kano, to drink.
The prosecutor further told the court that Adamu fell unconscious after drinking the water and the duo robbed him of his tricycle, valued at N400,000, with registration number HJA154QA.
He said the accused was subsequently arrested while Ali, his ally, was still at large.
However, when his plea was taken, Suleiman pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Aisha Yahaya, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to September 7, for further mention.(NAN)
