Ikorodu – For allegedly obtaining N470,000 under false pretext, an applicant, Dele Olawale, on Tuesday, secured N200,000 bail from the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Olawale, 68, whose address, is not given, is facing a two-count charge of fraud and obtaining money under false pretext, an offence he denied.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 23 at GT bank area, Ikorodu.
Famuyiwa alleged that the accused fraudulently obtained the money from the complainant, Mr Ganiu Adebayo, on the pretext that he would supply three phase and single prepaid meters, a representation he knew was false.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 411 and 287 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate E. O. Ogunkanmi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Nov. 8 for mention.
