Man bags six months imprisonment for stealing 34 cowsABUJA – A Dutse Magistrates’ Court, Abuja on Wednesday sentenced one Zaure Auta to six months imprisonment on a two-count charge of joint act, and stealing of 34 cows.
When the charges were read to him, he admitted committing the offence.
Auta,42, broke into the cattle farm of Mr Moses Ayodele in Bwari, Abuja on Sept.23 and stole the 34 cows valued at N3million. [eap_ad_2] The prosecution said that the offences were contrary to Sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The magistrate, Mr Chukwuemeka Nweke, who committed Auta to prison, however gave him N60,000 option of fine.
The cows were however, recovered from Auta and released to Ayodele.(NAN) [eap_ad_3]
