Man Begs Court Not To Grant Wife’s Divorce Petition

Ilorin, – A man, Suleiman AbdulFatai, on Wednesday begged an Area Court in Ilorin not to grant his wife, Balikis’ request to dissolve their marriage.

AbdulFatai pleaded with  the court to grant him some time to settle the misunderstanding with his wife.

”I pray for a few weeks to enable me sought out the issues so that we move on with our marriage,” he prayed.

The presiding Judge, Malam AbdulQadir Ibrahim, granted the prayer of AbdulFatai.

”The law allows time for settlement, especially when the partner has good intentions.

”You have the remaining days of the month of May to try and settle the misunderstanding with your wife,” the judge held..

The judge adjourned the matter until June 5, for report of settlement and  or continuation of hearing, with evidence and proof.

The petitioner, Baliki filled for divorce, claiming that her husband beats her.

She insisted on divorce, inspite of her husband’s plea, saying that she had made up her mind. (NAN)
