Sundiata Post – The Premier League star was robbed while he was appearing for the Cityzens and lost valuable properties to the assailant.
Manchester City star Jack Grealish’s Cheshire mansion was the target of a brazen burglary in an incident that occurred on the evening of December 27, 2023, while Grealish was playing in a Premier League match against Everton.
Grealish’s house raided during Premier League match
As Grealish was playing, approximately ten family members, including his fiancée, Sasha Attwood, were at home watching the match on television. They were startled by unusual noises and the barking of dogs. Alarmed by these sounds, the family activated the mansion’s panic buttons to alert security.
Following the activation of the panic alarms, Cheshire Police were notified of the burglary around 9.50 p.m. Despite a swift response involving police dogs and the National Police Air Service, the thieves eluded capture.
The police conducted extensive searches in the local area, but no suspects were found, and no arrests have been made, as per the Daily Mail.
The Scene at Grealish’s Mansion
The mansion, which Grealish had only recently moved into before Christmas, was unfamiliar to many of his family members present during the burglary.
This unfamiliarity added to the chaos and fear during the incident. The family was unharmed but reportedly left shaken by the experience.
Aftermath of Grealish robbery
According to TDPel Media, Grealish’s property, valued at £5.6 million, had extensive security measures, including perimeter fencing. Despite these precautions, the robbers successfully carried out their heist, and according to reports from ITV News, they stole jewellery estimated to be worth £1 million.
Forensic crime scene officers were seen at the property, and the police carried out door-to-door inquiries in the neighbourhood, seeking any helpful CCTV footage.
Response to Grealish’s home invasion
The burglary at Grealish’s home follows a similar incident involving West Ham player Kurt Zouma, whose home was also targeted by armed intruders. These events have raised concerns about the safety of high-profile athletes and their families.
West Ham United offered a £25,000 reward for information leading to the capture and prosecution of the burglars responsible for the raid on Zouma’s residence.
Cheshire Police continue to investigate the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. The case remains open, with the police dedicated to identifying and apprehending the perpetrators, as per ITV News
