Sango-Ota(Ogun) – The police on Tuesday arraigned a 40-year-old man, Adepoju Olaiya, in an Ota Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly defrauding one Adebayo Emmanuel of N45,000.
The accused, of no fixed address is being tried on a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Itaita Ebibomino, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 13, at about 4 p.m. at Iyana Iyesi, Ota.
He said that the accused borrowed N45, 000 from the complainant and promised to pay back the money, an agreement he failed to fulfill.

Ebibomino said that the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Vol.1 Revised Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till Aug. 12 for hearing. (NAN)
