Ikorodu – A 44-year-man, Fayemi Shadrack, on Monday appeared before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly obtaining N1.35 million by false pretences.
Shadrack, who has no fixed address, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and obtaining money under false pretences.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem, told the court that the defendant committed the offences in December 2018, at No. 6, Ademibuyon St., Agbede Ebuwawa, Owutu, Ikorodu.
Iberedem said that Shadrack conspired with one person still at large to fraudulently obtain N1.35 million from the complainant, Imocha Benedict, in contravention of Sections 312(b), 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs F. A. Azeez, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case until Sept. 15, for mention.
