Lagos. -. The police on Tuesday arraigned one Salish Mohammed before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a Tiger generator, valued at N30,000.
Mohammed, 20, of no fixed address is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that Mohammed and one other still at large, committed the offences on April 3 at 9.20 p.m. at Victor Bamiro Street, Alapere in Ketu, near Lagos.
Ihiehie said that the defendant and his cohort, conspired to steal the generator, belonging to one Kolawole Kasali.
He said that Mohammed was caught by two boys in the area and handed over to security operatives.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, granted Mohammed bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Kubeinje ordered that the sureties should reside within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the case until May 5 for mention.
