Ibadan – A 21-year old man, Olakunle Olowoyeye, was on Wednesday dragged before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing cellphones and a digital pen at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.
Olowoyeye is facing a two-count charge of stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Samad Aliu, told the court that Olowoyeye entered into the University of Ibadan Central Mosque and stole one Blackberry Torch 2 cellphone valued at N12, 500.
Aliu said Olowoyeye also stole one Techno T 718 cellphone valued at N5, 500 and one digital pen valued at N7, 500.00, all with a total value of N25,500.00, property of Wasiu Adeyemi.
“Olowoyeye also stole one Techno P3 valued at N4, 000 property of Sadiq Ajibade.
Aliu said the offences were committed on Nov. 23, at about 2 p.m. at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.
The offences contravene Section 415 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Counsel to the accused, Mr Sunday Adediran, asked for bail for the accused, on liberal terms.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N40, 000.00, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till Jan. 14, 2016. (NAN)
