Ikeja – A 50-year-old man, Olamilekan Adisa, was on Friday in Lagos granted N500,000 bail over alleged theft of a Toyota Hilux pick-up, valued at N22 million.
The accused, who resides at Ikeja area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Chief Magistrate Olufunke Sule-Amzat also ordered the accused to provide two sureties as part of the bail conditions.
Earlier, Police Prosecutor, Benson Emuerhi, told the court that the accused on Dec. 27, 2018 at about 3.25 a.m. used a master key and stole the car from were it was parked at No. 7a, Abiodun Close, off Alabi Street, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the accused, with others still at large, stole the Toyota Hilux pick-up with registration no. LSD-230 DV valued at N22 million, belonging to the Complainant, Mr Kareem Yusuf.
“The accused stole the car from were it was parked using a master key to gain access to the said vehicle.
“He was apprehended by the security guards when he couldn’t give any satisfactory answer about the vehicle and was handed over to the police for further questioning,” Emuerhi said.
The offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The case was adjourned until Feb. 28, for hearing.
