Abuja – A 27-year-old driver, Mordi Collins, was on Tuesday arraigned in a Kubwa Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing an I- pad and a cell phone valued at N295,000.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Alalabiaje Idowu, told the court that one Isah Suleiman, an officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), reported the matter at Kubwa Police Station on July 26.
Idowu said that the accused committed the offence after he was intercepted by a team of the FRSC, who found out after inquiries, that he was driving with an expired driver’s licence.
“When they asked him to park the vehicle, he claimed that the vehicle could not start and so the officers assisted him by pushing the vehicle.

Idowu said that the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty, but could not meet the bail condition.
The Magistrate, Mohammed Kutigi, adjourned the case till Oct. 19 for hearing. (NAN)
