Ile-Ife – A 38-year-old man, Abolade Wale, was on Wednesday docked before an Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, over alleged theft of vehicle’s battery sac100 APMs valued at N35,000.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Abdullahi, said that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 23 around 12.00p.m at OSCARS Area, Ondo Road in Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit: stealing.
He said that the accused stole one Forgo Motor Vehicle battery 100 AMPS, valued at N35,000, property of Iyabode Yusuf.
According to him, the offence contravened Sections 383, 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defence counsel, Mr E. F. Adeojo, applied for the bail of the accused in most liberal term, pledging that his client would not jump bail.
Magistrate Adejumoke Ademola-Olowolagba, admitted the accused to a bail of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Ademola-Olowolagba said that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and should be residing within the court jurisdiction.
The magistrate added that surety must be a civil servant not below grade level 06 and that his or her address must be verified by the prosecutor.
The magistrate then adjourned the case until Nov. 30 for mention.
