In a tragic incident in the Gawu Babangida area of Gurara Local Government Area, Niger State, a dispute over property turned fatal as Abubakar Sani allegedly killed his elder brother, Kabiru Sani, during an argument.
Both siblings, originally from the Tafa Local Government Area, were residents of the area. According to sources, the argument escalated, leading Abubakar to strike his elder brother with a large stick, resulting in Kabiru’s death.
Reports indicate that prior to the altercation, Abubakar had been making threats towards his family members. The state police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, stating, “The suspect was arrested for having engaged in a fight with his brother…over issues of property.”
Abiodun added, “Preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be transferred to the SCID for further investigation and diligent prosecution.” The tragic incident underscores the importance of peaceful resolution of disputes and the need for community intervention to prevent such occurrences.
