Ikeja – A company Manager, Olasile Oyero, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N2.6 million belonging to the company.
Oyero, 35, who resides at No. 4, Saleem St., Kola Bus- Stop in Alagbado, near Lagos, is facing charges of stealing and conspiracy.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, said that Oyero committed the offences with others at large between October 2017 and June 2018 at Vicmond Ade Enterprises, located at No. 17, Bolaji Omupu St. in Shomolu, Lagos.
Eruada said that Oyero, who was a manager in the company and was in charge of the company’s account, stole the money from Vicmond Ade Enterprises.
“During auditing, it was discovered that N2.6 million was missing from the company’s account. When the accused was asked, he could not give any reasonable explanation.’’
Eruada said that the case was reported to the police and that the accused was arrested for further questioning.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 280(b) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Oyero, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted Oyero bail in the sum of N1million with two sureties in like sum.
