Sunday’ fixture between and Liverpool has been postponed after fan protests blocked the arrival of the buses and as around 200 fans broke into Trafford and took the pitch.

They were protesting against the Glazer , the owners of the club.

The Police, the , Trafford Council and the two clubs agreed that the game wouldn’t be able go ahead.

“Following the security breach at Trafford, the vs. Liverpool game has been postponed,” a statement from the said.

“This is a collective decision from the police, both clubs, the Premier League and local authorities.

“The security and of everyone at Trafford remain of paramount importance. We understand and respect the strength of feeling but condemn all acts of violence, criminal damage and trespass, especially given the associated -19 breaches. Fans have many channels by which make their views known, but the actions of a seen today have no justification.

“We sympathise with the police and stewards who had to deal with a dangerous situation that have no place in football.

“The rearrangement of the fixture be communicated in due course.”
