Lagos – Mrs Bose Ogunyemi, Marketing Manager of an indigenous manufacturing company, has advised Nigerians to reduce intake of sugar.
Ogunyemi, marketing manger of Giant Beverages Ltd., gave the advice on Wednesday while unveiling one of the company’s products, Vitamin Water to newsmen in Lagos.
She urged Nigerians to choose healthy lifestyle by reducing sugar intake in order to reduce incidence of diseases such as diabetes.
She said that excessive sugar intake was responsible for diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
She added that this was one of the reasons her company introduced Vitamin Water into the market.
She said: “Vitamin Water by Giant Beverages Limited is the first of its kind in the Nigerian beverage scene.
“It has the potential of reshaping the non-alcoholic beverage market in Nigeria as it will satisfy the yearnings of lifestyle-conscious consumers.
“Giant Vitamin Water, which comes in six variants, is a low calorie drink that actually satisfies thirst unlike other carbonated drinks.
“There is no limit to the number of bottles that can be consumed by an individual; it contains vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to health.
“It is made from demineralised water infused with natural fruit extracts, vitamins and minerals, unlike carbonated drinks which are made from chemical compounds and sugar.
“Giant Vitamin Water does not contain artificial flavours, colours and preservatives.” (NAN)
