Kafur (Katsina State) – Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the governorship and state house assembly elections in the state.
Masari disclosed this on Saturday after casting his vote at Adult Education centre polling unit, Kafur.
He said that there was no report from the 34 local government areas of breach of peace.
The governor said that all the reports coming across the state had indicated that the election was peaceful.
According to him, Katsina State Government had engaged youths through the provision of employment and capital to engage in small scale businesses in their town and villages.
“If you give youth the opportunity to be occupied by business or pursuing education, the chances are that they would not waste their time to engage in violence.
“I have spent four years championing the crusade against election violence and thuggery.
“My crusade against election violence has started yielding results as not a single person lost his life during this election,” he said. (NAN)
