Maulud: Gov. Ikpeazu urges Muslims in Abia to preach peace

Umuahia – Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has urged Muslims in the state to use the Maulud celebration to preach peace.

This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Godwin Adindu.

Ikpeazu said that the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad should bring tidings of hope to Nigeria.

He said that Islam was a religion built on the tenets of love, harmony and charity.

Ikpeazu appealed to Muslims in Abia to use the occasion to extend the spiritual benefits of the holy day to every facet of the society.

The governor said that he was pleased that Muslims in Abia were authentic followers of the true teaching of Allah as they had demonstrated it through their life of tolerance .

Ikpeazu commended the Muslim community for making concerted efforts to be good patriots and ambassadors of the state.(NAN)
