Kano – Max Air Ltd has airlifted 18, 000 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia since the commencement of the pilgrimage on Aug. 23, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, the airlines Public Relations Manager, has said.
Dahiru told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Kano that the pilgrims were airlifted to the Holy land in 34 flights.
He said that the airline had completed the airlift of intending pilgrims from Jigawa, Gombe and Katsina states.
Dahiru said the airline had also completed necessary arrangements to begin the airlift of intending pilgrims from Kebbi, Niger, Rivers and Imo states.
“In Borno zone we have started airlifting pilgrims from Yobe while in Yola zone effort is being made to airlift pilgrims from Adamawa today’’, he said.
The spokesman expressed optimism that the airline would complete the airlift of prospective pilgrims before the expiration of the deadline.

He solicited the cooperation of state Pilgrims Welfare Boards to ensure the success of the exercise. (NAN)
