Kano- Max Air Ltd. said it had completed the transportation of intending pilgrims allocated to it, to Saudi Arabia for the 2016 Hajj.
No fewer than 30,112 intending pilgrims were allocated to the airline by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for transportation to Saudi Arabia for the 2016 Hajj.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, the Public Relations Manager of the airline, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.
Dahiru said the pilgrims were transported to the Holy land from different parts of the country in 59 flights.
“As at yesterday evening (Tuesday) we had transported 29, 670 out of the 30, 112 intending pilgrims allocated to us by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
“The remaining 1, 107 intending pilgrims on ground will be transported to the Holy land any time from now as the aircraft are already on ground,” he said.
He explained that out of the 1,107 pilgrims on ground, Kano had one flight, while the second flight would be a combined one for Katsina and Kebbi states.
“I am happy to say that we have completed the transportation of our intending pilgrims four days before the closure of King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah,” the spokesman said.
He assured that the Airline would keep to its promise during the return flights after the Hajj by ensuring that pilgrims returned with their luggage.
“We promised pilgrims that they will return with their luggage so that on arrival, they will carry their luggage home and we will try to keep to the promise,” he said.
Dahiru called on the state Pilgrims Welfare Boards to give the airline the necessary support and cooperation during the return journey to ensure the success of the operation.
