Dutse – The World Health Organisation has trained 663 health workers to conduct vaccination against measles in KafinHausa LGA of Jigawa.
The council’s Information Officer, Alhaji Fahad Muhammad, made this known on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) in Dutse.
Muhammad said that children – from nine months’ old to five years’ old – are targeted for the exercise.
He said that the five-day exercise would start on Nov. 9.
According to the official, 91 vaccination centres have been designated for the exercise in the 11 wards of council area.
He said that the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency had provided enough vaccines for the programme.
Muhammad said that 91 females were undertaking house- to-house mobilisation to encourage parents to take their children to their nearest vaccination centres for the vaccination.
He added that the council Chairman, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, directed all councillors to monitor the exercise to ensure its success.
