The acting chairman of the union, Mr Babangida Demdis, announced the suspension of the two-week-old strike at a news conference.
Demdis said the action followed an intervention by the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rulwanu Adamu, who prevailed on officials of the union to suspend the strike.
The chairman explained that the emir promised to liaise with the authorities of the hospital to resolve the crisis.
He assured members of the union that all the demands were made to improve the living conditions of the members.
Demdis said the demands include payment of salary arrears, delay in considering staff for promotion and payment of disturbance allowances to staff on transfers.
Others, according to him, are the unavailability of cleaning and protective materials in all the strategic locations in the hospital to minimise infection.
He commended members of the union for the support and cooperation given to the officials of the union during the strike. (NAN)
