Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A security expert Captain Umar Aliyu (Rtd) has called on governments in Nigeria to be ruthless in dealing with security challenges facing the country.
He spoke on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, faulting negotiations with criminals.
According to him, perpetrators of violence need to be dealt with and not pampered so that insecurity can be stamped out.
“From my profiling of banditry, they see dialogue as a sign of weakness…they don’t see the magnanimity of a governor as anything,” he said. “They see it as a profound weakness. You have to speak to them in the languages they understand.”
