The fear of Boko Haram onslaught has sent many residents of Bitiku, Imirsa and Ghansa villages in Madagali Local Government area of Adamawa packing following reports that Boko Haram may attack the villages.
A resident of one of the villages who simply identified himself as Sule told SundiataPOST that their fear was informed by Boko Haram attack on neighboring Yazza and Ngulyangwal villages in Gwoza Local Government area of Borno state by unknown gunmen.
“There is serious anxiety in the affected villages as people are running for their lives for fear of possible attack. The matter is serious, as I am talking to you now from Michika some people are calling to say that they are hearing gun shots”, Sule said.
When contacted, the Commanding Officer of the Special Battalion, Mubi, Lt Col. Beyidi Martins, said his men were on top of the security situation and so far no insurgent attack was recorded anywhere in the said villages.
Martins said he could not comment on the reported attack on Yazza and Ngulyangwal as the two areas are outside his jurisdiction as they are in Borno state.
