Lagos- Accion Microfinance Bank Limited, in efforts to deepen financial inclusion in the country, says it is set to increase its branch networking by 400 per cent before 2019.
The Managing Director of the Bank, Mrs Olubunmi Lawson, said this at the 2014 Annual Customers Forum in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Accion was established in 2007, currently operating 25 branches in Lagos State.
The bank won the 2014 Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access Award for the financial service provider that deepened financial inclusion in Nigeria.

According to Lawson, the bank will continue to come up with various initiatives to serve Nigerians better.
“We have disbursed over N10 billion in loans to 49,443 clients, bringing our total loan disbursement from inception to date to N32.8 billion.
“The number of customers that joined the bank in 2014 increased from 64,845 in 2013 to 86,665.
“We thank God for sparing our lives to witness the dawn of a new year 2015.
“We also thank God for sustaining Accion Microfinance Bank throughout last year despite the challenges encountered in 2014.
Lawanson, however, commended the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for approving the bank to become national.
She said “the most important award, however, is that the CBN at the end of 2014 gave us an approval for a national banking licence.
“This means that Accion MfB is now a national Microfinance Bank approved to open branches all over the country.
“We are determined to bring the hope of a brighter future to prospective customers in other states as we have done in Lagos over the years.
Projecting the bank’s plan for 2015, she said Accion had put a lot in place to make Nigerians happy.
She said “we are repackaging the Group Loan product to address your concerns and to make the product achieve its set objectives.

“We are deploying more ATM machines for easy access to your funds and spread to other states to also reach your brothers, sisters, uncles and others.”
She said the bank would come up with other products that to help address the needs.
“We are also giving you additional insurance products and benefits in cases of flood, fire, burglary, permanent disability, death/burial etc.
“We are also designing a special product for the women folk.” (NAN).
