The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has approved the payment of N75,000 as a new minimum wage to civil servants in the state.

This was contained in a press statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.

According to the statement, the decision followed a careful review of the current economic situation in the country especially as it affects the workforce, adding that the new minimum wage will improve the financial well-being of the workers, as the increase will help cope with rising living costs and provide better opportunities for the workers.

Workers on grade level 2 will receive the full minimum wage of N75,000 while workers on grade level 3 and above will receive an additional N40,000 increase across the board, the statement reads.

The implementation of the N75,000 minimum wage takes effect from Monday, October 28th, as this will positively impact the lives of civil servants in Ebonyi state.
