Haruna said this when the National Commandant of Peace Corps, Mr Dickson Akoh, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
He said the ministry would continue to support youth voluntary organisations in the country, adding that some organisations abused the confidence of the public. [eap_ad_1] “In crisis situation, substantial people involved in the crisis are usually the youths and they are usually victims of circumstances.
“ It is important that we leverage on programmes of organization that would promote peace and build the confidence of the public,’’ the minister said.
He advised the organisation to focus on the positive rather than negative and contribute its own quota to the development of the country.
Mr Dickson Akoh, had earlier said Boko Haram insurgency ravaging parts of the country had taken a toll on the socio economic aspects of the nation.
“In trying to find a lasting solution to these problems, there is the need for the ministry to support a summit for voluntary uniformed youth organisations,”
“This data gathered can be transmitted to relevant security agencies for prompt and necessary action,’’ Akoh said. (NAN)
