Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Human rights crusader and former federal lawmaker that represented Kaduna Central senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has said that the hope of youths to dominate the cabinet has been dashed by the exigences of appeasing the entitled old brigades.
Shehu Sani who stated this after the Senate President Godswill Akpabio reeled out the 19 names on the second but last list of the ministerial nominees at the floor of the Senate on Wednesday.
Recall that last week, President Bola Tinubu forwarded the first batch of ministerial nominees containing 28 names. The total number of ministerial nominees sent for screening and confirmation are 47.
The list includes former governors, economists, finance experts, health experts, lawyers and allies of Mr Tinubu.
Among them were former Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, ex-Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, and presidential spokesperson Dele Alake.
Sundiata Post recalls that both youth and women were under-reprrsented contrary to to the campaignering promises of the All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu prior to the February 25th presidential election.
Shehu Sani highlighted that the exigences of appeasing the entitled old brigades accounted for why the hope of the youth was dashed.
