Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Chairman of the Plateau State All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Rufus Bature, has decried the none inclusion of a Minister from the State at the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Bature said since the former governor of the State, Simon Lalong who was appointed as the former Minister of Labour and Productivity resigned to pick up his mandate as a Senator, President Bola Tinubu has not replaced him with another Plateau son or daughter as provided in the constitution.
The Chairman spoke to our correspondent in Jos at the weekend.
“We are poorly treated. We have appealed to President Tinubu to pick a replacement for Lalong as Minister in his cabinet.
“We know that the appointment is an exclusive preserve of Mr. President, but it is also a constitutional provision that every State must have a Minister.
“For Plateau not to have anyone that represents its interest at the Federal Executive Council means that we are not being carried along, because nobody is there to speak for us.
“But we believe that sooner or later, the President will respond to our call and pick someone from the State”, the APC Chairman said.
