The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the council and Emir of Lafia, Dr Isah Mustapha-Agwai 1.
Mr Joel Aninge, the traditional ruler of Panda, Odiyo Yankpa of Panda, who read the communique to newsmen, said the council affirmed its commitment to spearhead a renewed effort to address the situation.
Aninge said that the council was disturbed by the impunity, abuse, wanton destruction of lives and property foisted on the people of the state by a handful of people.
He said that the council had agreed to seek audience with President Goodluck Jonathan to seek his intervention in addressing the security situation in the state.
The monarch said that the council also stressed the need for the state government to provide adequate security to facilitate the return of persons who fled their places of abodes as a result of the crises.
Aninge said that the council also sympathised with government and people of the state as well as families of the victims of the various crises that claimed many lives in the state.
The council, according to him, recalls the prevailing peace and tranquillity in the state which defines cohabitation in the past.
“These worthy virtues of good neighbourliness and brotherhood served as the fulcrum for the agitation for Nasarawa State,” he said.
It called for a change of attitude by the people of the state so that peace could reign in the state, the monarch said. (NAN)
