Bauchi (Bauchi State) – Motorists have expressed happiness and satisfaction with the reversal of petrol price to N87 per litre in filling stations in Bauchi.

They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday, that they were happy because they could now purchase the product at the government-approved price.

Alhaji Na-Inna Musa, a commercial vehicle driver, said he was making reasonable profit now, as against the past months when he had to pay up to N120 for a litre of petrol.

“Now that I can buy fuel at the controlled price, I am also going to reduce the charges for my passengers.

“This single action shows that the new administration at the top is willing to look into the plight of motorists and passengers alike.”

Mr Ema Isaac, a civil servant, said he was pleased with the development as he now had extra money to spend on other needs.

According to him, N120 per litre of petrol was exorbitant and made it difficult for many motorists to make ends meet especially those with families to look after.

“This reversal is welcome and people like us who do not have extra money to waste can save some for the needs of our families”, he added

Miss Zainab Abubaklar, a house wife, said she could now use her private car instead of using commercial vehicles like ‘KEKE-NAPEP” while going to the market or for social visits.

“I started using commercial means of transportation because I could not afford spending up to N120 or at times up to N130 per litre of petrol.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]

“We thank whoever is responsible for this new development and hope that the price would be adhered to by all major and independent marketers in the business”, she said.
NAN reports that most filling stations in Bauchi are selling petrol at N87 per litre as against N120 some weeks back. (NAN)
