LAGOS – A 34-year-old musician, Samson Olanrewaju, on Thursday appeared in an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing an N18,000 car battery.
Olanrewaju, who lives at 5, Olu Ayinla St., Opesa, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams, told the court that the offence was committed on April 22, at Ipaja, Lagos.
She said that the accused, and one other person at large, removed the battery of a car that was parked in a mechanic’s workshop.
According to her, a security guard caught the accused with the car battery.
Williams said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 278 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to both counts of the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N25,000, with a surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case till June 4, for mention.(NAN)
