ILE-IFE – The University of Ife Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) said it was ready to partner with the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to assist brilliant but poor students.
The National President of the association, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, said this during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, on Friday in Ile-Ife.
Egbewole, who led other members of the association to the vice chancellor, commended the school’s management regarding the last Nigerian Universities’ Games (NUGA) hosted by the institution.
He lauded the efforts of the vice chancellor and other management staff in making the university one of the best in the country.
In his response, Omole commended the association for always coming up with topical issues for discussions.
He said that this year’s theme: “Islam and Good Governance: Nigeria’s Legislative Agenda,’’ is very significant in view of the challenges facing the country.
He urged other religious groups to take a cue from UNIFEMGA.
The association donated some books to the university. (NAN)
