ILORIN – Over 2000 members of Al-Fatihu Quareeb Muslim Organisation of Nigeria, Kwara branch on Friday in IIorin held a special prayer for the safe return of the schoolgirls abducted in Borno.
The National Missioner of the organisation, Dr AbdulRahman Tijani, who led the prayers, described Islam as a peaceful religion which does not promote ungodly acts.
He prayed for peaceful co-existence in the country and called on Allah to guide and protect the abducted girls in order to make them return to their parents safely.
According to him, “whoever kills a fellow being, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise’’.
He said that Islam warns of heavy punishment for those people who were involved in such acts.
The Islamic urged Nigerians to be prayerful at all times in order to surmount their problems.
Also, the State Missioner of the Organisation, Alhaji Abdulsalam Alanamu, urged Nigerians to refrain from acts that were against the will of Allah and seek for forgiveness of their sins.
He said that prayer was the only weapon to communicate with God and was necessary to overcome the problems confronting the country.
The National Secretariat of Federation of Muslim Women in Nigeria had directed all mosques and religious groups to offer special prayers for the abducted girls during the Friday Jumat service. (NAN)
