Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Senator representing Abia South senatorial district at the Ntional Assembly, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has described his alleged recall process as the handiwork of failed politicians who have misplaced their political priority.
Sundiata Post recalls that the Coalition of Abia South Senatorial Movement, (CASSM) on Tuesday said it has commenced the process of recalling Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. The group said the decision to recall Abaraibe followed a resolution reached by stakeholders from various political parties in the six local government areas in Abia South.
Their reason was alleged failure of the lawmaker to impact meaningfully on the welfare of the people through quality representation.
The group through Prince Paul Ikonne lamented that Abaribe was elected to push for good governance and make good laws but he reverse was the case.
However, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to Senator Abaribe, Mr. Uchenna Awom in Abuja on Wednesday, Abaraibe dismissed the alleged recall process as laughable and a huge joke.
The reaction followed widely circulated media report of the recall of Senator Abaribe for poor performance in the Red Chamber.
In a telephone interview with Awom on Wednesday, he described the arrow head of CASSM, Prince Paul Ikonne as a failed politician who is seeking attention from the Villa in Abuja.
Awom in his words said “what is the business of the All Progressive Congress in the activities of a People’s Democratic Party Senator who is offering quality representation to the people of Abia south.
In trying to link the idea behind Paul Ikonne’s activities Awom said “Paul Ikonne’s father, Eze Isaac Ikonne is a traditional ruler who conferred a traditional title on President Buhari during the 2015 campaigns, so you can see the link”
