Margret is seeking the dissolution of the marriage on the grounds that her husband “is a fraud, rapist and a brute’’.
She said Ojo lacked respect for her and the marriage as he did not cater for her needs and those of their children which often led to disagreements and frequent fights in their home.
The mother of four said there was an incident when the husband connived with his friends and duped her and that when she discovered and confronted him, he beat her mercilessly.
According to her, since she married her husband, he has never fulfilled any kind of obligation to her people as is expected of an in-law, but that she on her part has always taken care of his parents.
Bamidele, 41, however denied the allegations adding that he was often forced to take care of the family by cooking their meals because his wife was lazy.
He also claimed that he had never disrespected his wife or in-laws, but held them in high regard.
He further stated that he always tried to meet his responsibilities to the family with his meagre salary and other little money he earned.
The court’s president, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi adjourned the case until July30 for further hearing. (NAN)
