Abuja- Stanley Eguma, the Dolphins Football Club’s Technical Adviser, on Monday in Abuja admitted that his boys have been goal-shy at the ongoing Glo Premier League Super 4 Invitational Tournament.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Port Harcourt-based clubside have failed to score any goal so far, after two games.
They lost 0-2 to 2013/2014 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Kano Pillars in their first game on Jan. 24.
The 2014 Federation Cup runners-up also lost by a lone goal to the national under-23 team, the Dream Team VI, on Monday.
Eguma who spoke to newsmen at a post-match conference however said: “I am worried that we have failed to score after two games and that the boys have been goal-shy.
“But it is my problem. I take full responsibility for everything and I will go back to work on this.’’
The coach however noted that his team’s play slightly improved compared to their first game.
“We played more as a team today (Monday), unlike in our first game when we were just chasing the ball with no purpose.
“Though we have not scored a goal so far, but I am confident and happy that our game has improved,” he said.
Eguma said the lone goal the team conceded on Monday (today) was through a blunder by goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday.

He added that they needed to work on the goalkeeper’s psychology and other challenges which he has as well.
“Sunday is not a bad goalkeeper, but I think we will bring in another goalkeeper to replace him in our next game.
“We will however not throw him away, because he has the experience which we will need someday,” the coach said.
NAN reports that after two games at the tournament, the Flying Eagles and the Dream Team have amassed six points each, while Kano Pillars and Enyimba are with three points each.
Dolphins FC and Warri Wolves are currently at the bottom of the table with no point each.
Dolphins are up against 2013/2014 Federation Cup winners Enyimba International FC of Aba in their next game on Wednesday.
The tournament which kicked off on Saturday is expected to end on Feb. 1.(NAN)
