Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Award-winning artist David ‘Davido’ Adeleke on Saturday formed a five-man committee to oversee the distribution of his N250 million donation to orphanages across Nigeria.
Following his N100 million challenge, which raised over N200 million, the artist said that he will contribute his financial present as well as an additional N50 million to orphans on his birthday.
For his birthday on Wednesday, David requested that his friends and followers each donate N1 million to him.
Despite the fact that the musician stated that the goal was to raise N100 million, he received almost N53 million in financial transfers in less than an hour after asking colleagues for N1 million.
Following his successful contribution, the singer has chosen to give back to society by forming a committee to track her growth.
In his statement, titled, ‘Donation of N250,000,000.00 to orphanages across Nigeria,’ the singer listed the five people who would make up the committee.
The statement partly read,
“To oversee the distribution of funds to beneficiaries, I have established a five-person Disbursement Committee.
Mrs Titi Adebayo, the committee’s chairman, Professor Jonathan Nwosu, the committee’s secretary, Professor Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Union Conference, Pastor (Dr.) Oyalabu of SpringTime Development Foundation, and Professor Uloma Onuoha are among the committee’s members.
