Kaduna – The Nigeria Air Force and Royal Jordanian Air Force have agreed to form a committee to develop a road map for future engagements especially in the fight against insurgency and training.
The Commander Royal Jordanian Air Force, Maj.-Gen. Youssef Al-Hanity told newsmen on Wednesday after a visit to the NAF Air Training Command in Kaduna, that Nigeria and Jordan have a lot to gain from the cooperation and collaboration.
“There are two areas we need to cooperate, and among them is training.
“We already decided to have committees – one from Jordan and one from Nigeria- to meet and develop a road map that will enhance the capability of both air forces,” he said.
The Jordanian air chief commended Nigeria for its steadfastness in the fight against insurgency, stressing that the Nigeria air force had played key role in this effort.
Air power and technology are key to defeating insurgency, he added.
The Commanding Officer of the school, AVM Christopher Okoye, who received Al Hanity, expressed delight at the renewed cooperation between the two countries, saying that the school would be fully involved in the process.
NAN reports that the Jordanian air chief also visited the Regiment Training Centre and Super Mushak aircraft Hanger among other NAF facilities in Kaduna.(NAN)
