ABUJA (SUNDIATA POST)- The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) branch has elected a new State Officers’ Council (SOC).
NAGGMDP, an affiliate of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), represents General Medical and Dental Practitioners in government employment across the federal, state and local government levels nationwide.
Dr Okoreaffia Ogbonnaya, the newly elected Chairman of the FCT chapter, in his inaugural address, pledged to prioritise members’ welfare, as well as establish a permanent secretariat for the association.
Ogbonnaya also said that the council would intensify advocacy for the appointment of qualified members into leadership positions in government hospitals.
While reaffirming the commitment of the new council to the core objectives of the association and to fostering unity among members, he said that all the efforts would add value to patient healthcare service delivery.
Other officers of the SOC include Dr Ekama Erhinyoja-Peter, (Federal Medical Centre Jabi) as Vice Chairman and Dr Umar Alhaji-Umar, (Maitama District Hospital) as Secretary.
Others are Dr Ihegazie Dorothy, (Area Council Service, Abuja Municipal Area Council) as Assistant Secretary; Dr Olaniyi Olatayo-Jethro, (Kuje General Hospital) as Treasurer.
Dr Magode Dikko-Stephen, (Bwari Area Council) emerged as the Publicity Secretary. (NAN)
