NAOWA says children’s education important for nation’s peace, development

Enugu   –     The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has said that education remains very important for peace, stability and development in the country.

Mrs Hauwa Abubakar, the President of NAOWA, 82 Division chapter, said this while inaugurating NAOWA’s nursery school and crèche at 103 Battalion Barracks, Awkunanaw, Enugu.

“Considering the importance of children’s education to the peace, stability and development of any society, this commissioning ceremony is therefore apt to the development and well-being of our children.

“It is very important in the development of the Battalion and its surrounding communities as well as laying a solid educational foundation for our children’s future.’’

She, however, lauded the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, Maj.- Gen. Adamu Abubakar; the Commanding Officer of the Battalion, Maj. Maxwell Maji and his officers and men for the conception and successful execution of the project.

The Education Director, 82 Division, Brig.-Gen. A.A. Goni, represented the GOC.

Others, who graced the occasion, included Col. Sagir Musa, the Deputy Director, Public Relations of the Division, and many members of the association.
