Gadabuke – The Gadabuke Development Area of Nasarawa State on Tuesday said N20 million has been earmarked for the construction of two bridges and five culverts to boost socio-economic activities in the area.
Alhaji Alhassan Liman, the overseer of the area stated this while inspecting the Uzo-Retash/Madaki Bridge and Tudun Uk bridges in Gadabuke.
He also inspected the Karom Gangye, Gadabuke, Gwargwada and Tashara kpataku culverts under construction.
Liman commended the state governor, Tanko Al-Makura for making funds available for the projects.
“This inspection tour is to ensure that the construction of bridges and culverts in this area is done according to specification in the interest of development.
“We are aware that the project was the initiative of Gov. Al-Makura to connect the areas to different communities and to reduce the hardship faced by the people.
“This construction will also boost the economic activities of the area for the development of the state.
“The construction will go a long way in fighting poverty, crime, unemployment, youth restiveness and improve the revenue base of the area,” he said.
Liman, however, assured the people of the council’s readiness to continue to initiate projects that would have direct bearing on their lives.
He urged the people to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Al-Makura’s administration to succeed.
Liman also advised the people to continue to live in peace and to tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation for the development of the country.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the construction of the projects has reached an advance stage of completion.
