Member representing Udege-Loko Constituency in Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Okpoku, has donated six vehicles to All Progressives Congress (APC) wards chairmen in his constituency.
Presenting the vehicles on Friday in Udege, Okpoku urged the beneficiaries to use them to promote party activities in the area and the state at large.
He said that the gesture was borne out of his desire to promote party activities in his constituency and affect the lives of the party chairmen, their families and others positively.
The lawmaker used the opportunity to reel out his achievements, saying that he drilled motorised boreholes at Mararaban Udege, Ebe, Odege Mbeki, Usha-Kadu, Oseni, Apawu-Kuri Akyawa-Baka and Kuvo, with generators.
He also said that he constructed two blocks of classroom, with office accommodation at Loko, Odegeh bridge on Onda-Kana road and a primary healthcare clinic at Apura-ogba, with donation of N350,000, with two sets of computer to GSS Odenin-Gida.
Others, he said, included securing admissions for over 100 students into State University, Keffi, Federal University, Lafia, College of Health Technology, Keffi, College of Education, Akwanga and College of Nursing Lafia.
He also recalled that he had secured employment for people of the constituency in government ministries, departments and agencies.
Also speaking, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, commended Okpoku for the gesture, calling on the beneficiaries of the vehicles to use them for the benefits of the party.
Abdullahi, represented by Mr Muhammad Omadefu, Chairman, House Committee on Information, described Okpoku as one of the outstanding members of the assembly, judging by his eloquence and positive contributions to deliberations.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the vehicles were given to the chairmen of APC in Akum, Odenin-Gida, Onda/Kana, Odu, Odenin Magaji and Loko wards.
