LAFIA – The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed the allegation that its campaign organisation misappropriated N200 million campaign funds.

gubernatorial campaign organisation in the state, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Tuesday.
It said that the allegations were out to tarnish the image of the party in the state.
The statement advised journalists to always conduct thorough investigations before going to press, especially as the upcoming general elections election was fast approaching.

It said that what should be the upmost in the mind of right thinking Nigerians was how to conduct successful elections rather than fueling crisis and creating disaffection in the polity.
” The essence of this press statement is not to join issue with anybody or a group of people but to clarify the falsehood allegations by a section of the media who are playing the scripts of PDP distractors about the unfounded N200 million.
“We want to make it clear that we never collected such money from anybody but whoever has evidence to the contrary should come forward with it and make it known to the public or desist from such ungodly acts,” the statement further advised. (NAN)
