The Nasarawa State Executive of the PDP on Wednesday declared support for Bamanga Tukur’s leadership of the party.
Mr. Maka Nangba, the Nasarawa North PDP Organising Secretary, declared the support at the inauguration of new officials of the PDP in Wakama Electoral Ward of the Akun Development Area of the state.
According to him, “there is no new PDP in Nasarawa State and the entire members of the party are behind Bamanga Tukur 100 per cent.”
He added that the PDP in Nasarawa State could not be bought over, “we are strongly behind the leadership of Bamanga Tukur at the national level and Yonana Iliya in the state,” he said.
While assuring the Tukur led leadership of unalloyed support, Nangba added that “PDP in Nasarawa State is one united family, where members and leaders operate on the same page.” Also, Mr Jacob Ali, the PDP Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, called on people of the area to support PDP in all future elections in the state.
He enumerated the achievements of the PDP in the state from 1999-2011 to include, rural electrification, road construction, establishment of four higher institutions, employment generation for youths and maintenance of peace in the state among others.
According to him, any government that would not generate employment for the youth in order to engage them positively should be voted out of power.
The PDP chairman of Wakama Electoral Ward, Mr. Polinus Auta, said the new officials who were inaugurated were from Akpata Ward, Wakama East, Sabo Wakama and Wakama West Electoral Ward.
Auta charged the new officials to always be good ambassadors of the party and avoid acts of corruption, as anyone found indulging in corruption would face the full wrath of the law.
The occasion was also attended by traditional rulers from the area, youth leaders, market women, PDP supporters among others.
