Ashinge – The Nasarawa State Government said it had earmarked over N500 million to construct bridges and culverts across the state to ease the transportation problems facing the people during the rainy season.
Gov. Tanko Al-Makura said this on Sunday when he inspected the Lafia-Ashinge-Fadama-Bauma Road.
Al-Makura said the construction and reconstruction of roads across the state had been the centre focus of his administration, considering the plights of some communities during the rainy season.
He noted that roads linking communities in Lafia East and Lafia North federal constituencies were having serious challenges during the period and promised to tackle them.
The governor promised to construct bridges and erect culverts linking Ashinge-Fadama-Bauna Roads in the next two months.
“We will connect all these communities with culvert and bridges in two months,’’ he said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Al-Makura said that Triacta, the Engineering Construction Company, handling the project had the capacity and equipment to construct the bridges.
He said the state government was committed to transforming the rural communities through the provision of electricity, roads and potable water. (NAN)
